Instructor Profiles

We love our instructors! Whether you are looking to foster a love of music, art, science or literature in your student you will find amazing partners in our instructors. We match our courses and our instructors carefully to provide both an academically rigorous but also fun and hands-on environment. Below you will find some information about our great teachers!

Myles Barnard

Myles was awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology from Penn State in 1982.  He spent more than 35 years chronicling weather patterns and has always been interested in the science.  He taught in the Walled Lake School system and incorporated weather systems into their environmental education curriculum. Myles has also played chess for many years and has taught chess in public schools.  His goal has been to teach students to apply the critical thinking methods used in chess to the decisions (and choices) students make in their daily lives.

Betty Borza

Betty has been teaching art for over 14 years.  She is the owner of Monart School of Drawing in Taylor and co-owner of Art and About.  She loves creating art in many different media, but her passion is teaching students skills and techniques and then seeing their enthusiasm and sense of accomplishment when they create something of which they are proud.  She lives and works in the downriver area and in her spare time loves to spend time with her young grandchildren. She also enjoys traveling and photography.
